You probably think that 3D technology is a modern invention. Well, it's actually been done before. Making an image 2-dimentional to make it look like it has depth is nothing new. For a century and half, people have been fascinated with 3-dimentional seeming images thanks to stereoscopes, which was invented in 1838 by Sir David Brewster.

Stereoscope uses two images to create a 3D image. Some might remember them as View-Masters. Brewster called the device Lenticular Stereoscope. When the device was presented to Queen Victoria at the Great Exhibition in London, she herself became a big fan of the new machine.
