It’s hard to believe that it has been over 10 years since the Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004 that took more than 230,000 lives across different South East Asian countries.

Out of these countries, Indonesia was hit the most, with more than 130,000 confirmed death and at least 500,000 people displaced. The 2004 tsunami was most destructive tsunami in recent human history.

The photos below do not only show the extent of the devastation caused of this natural calamity, but also the resilience and tenacity of the people who stood strong amidst tribulation and worked on rebuilding their city and their lives.
