Socotra Island: The Most Alien-Looking Place on Earth

The landscape of Socotra Island has a view that looks as if it was derived from a sci-fi film but in reality, it has evolved to appear like the 'lost world' island has been secluded from mainland Africa between six and seven million years.

Comparable to Galapagos Islands, known for their amazing array of wildlife, Socotra Island is also home to about 800 rare species of flora and fauna, of which a third are not found elsewhere on the planet.
