U.S. Presidents And Their Adorable Dogs

Dogs got their magic, and it's not just us regular people who think so. Even America's Presidents had dogs in the White House to help them woof the worries away.

 
President John F. Kennedy is the owner of several dogs. He's pictured here with Charlie, a Welsh Terrier.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt with Falla, a Scottish Terrier. FDR also had 8 other pooches but Falla was the most famous since he went everywhere with him. The statue of President Roosevelt at the FDR Memorial in Washington, D.C. even has an enormous bronze statue of Falla sitting at his side.

U.S. President Warren Harding with his Airedale named Laddie, who was quite a star during its stay at the White House. It even has its very own "cabinet chair". A statue of Laddie can be seen in the Smithsonian Museum.

President Theodore Roosevelt and the first family with their pet dog, Skip. The pooch was a small cross-bred feist that the president adopted while on a bear hunting trip. Skip is the origin of the America Rat Terrier breed.

36th President Lyndon Baines Johnson with his 2 beagles named Him and Her. He owned 3 other dogs while at the White House; a white collie, a small mongrel he found near a gas station, and another beagle given to him by J. Edgar Hoover.
