One of the largest existing Hindu houses of worship, The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, is located in Southern India. This brightly-colored wonder was built as a devotion to a reclining form of the deity Vishnu --- the Hindu God of Ranganatha.

The temple stretches up to six miles and encompasses more than 21 towers, 39 pavilions, and 50 shrines. As to the first known construction, it dates back to more than 700 years, and serves as a beacon of the Dravidian architectural style that’s famous in the region. Despite being through some hard times, as well as natural disasters and incursions, the temple has remained intact and as beautiful as always.
