Black Residents Call For Over $15 Billion in Reparations

The Boston People's Reparations Commission has called for the city to allocate $15 billion towards reparations for the Black community in Boston.

More than 200 individuals from the community attended a meeting at the Bolling Building in Nubian Square to discuss the significance of reparations and emphasize the need for the $15 billion investment to support Black Bostonians through financial means and long-lasting public policies.

Reverend Kevin Peterson, the leader of the Commission, expressed to WCVB that while the group is advocating for a $15 billion investment, this amount is deemed 'not enough' as 'every life is incalculable.'
