The lawsuit, brought forth by Rachel DeLoache Williams, a former friend of the infamous con artist Anna Sorokin, alleges that Netflix portrayed her falsely and defamed her character through the series. The legal dispute revolves around the portrayal of Williams in the Netflix original, where she is depicted as abandoning Sorokin during a trip to Morocco and betraying her to authorities, among other negative characterizations.
