Reports indicate that Donald Trump's legal team attempted to delay the testimony of a crucial witness in the ex-president's hush money trial, claiming they were unprepared.

Andrew Weissmann, former FBI general counsel, revealed that Trump's lawyers informed Judge Juan Merchan that they were not ready for the testimony of Jeffrey McConney, the former Trump Organization controller summoned by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office to provide insights during the trial on falsifying business records.

Despite the plea from Trump's legal team, Judge Merchan dismissed their request and allowed McConney to proceed with answering questions during the court session. McConney detailed how Trump's company reimbursed attorney Michael Cohen with $130,000, which Cohen had paid to Stormy Daniels before the 2016 Election to conceal her alleged affair with the ex-president.
