ESPN's Katie Barnes Says Trans Athletes Do Have Physical Advantages

During an interview with CNN, ESPN journalist Katie Barnes expressed her belief that transgender athletes participating in women's sports may possess a physical edge in certain disciplines, although not across all sports.

Various sports organizations have taken steps to restrict men from participating in women's events. For example, the Florida-based NXXT Women's Pro Tour updated its policy in March to allow only biological females to compete, barring transgender individuals from entry.

“I think it depends on what you mean by support that. From my reporting, the reality is that from a scientific perspective, we know that there are differences in sexes, and we know the differences do tend to lead to athletic performance differences as well, Barnes told Tapper.
