Under the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) categorization system, drugs are classified into five categories using Roman numerals based on their potential for abuse. Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, heroin, LSD, and ecstasy, are deemed to have the highest risk of dependency and lack accepted medical uses.
