The 2000s were all about bring the X-Treme sensibilities of the ‘90s to the mainstream, that’s how we ended up with the Fast and Furious and xXx franchises, but audiences were inundated with a ton of movies about surfing, skateboarding, and yeah, X-TREME SALVAGING.

Into The Blue stars a bevy of 2000s actors who are trying to make something out of nothing, including Paul Walker, Jessica Alba, Scott Caan, and Josh Brolin, and even if the movie doesn’t totally hold up it’s a lot of fun to watch these actors work with one another.

While speaking about the film shortly after its release, Alba explained that she helped shaped the end of the film with her action chops:

In the original script, at the end of the movie, Paul comes and rescues me. I do nothing for the last quarter of the movie. I told the director and said you know I can do action. I'm the most experienced person here. I mean girls don't really want to see girls get rescued all the time. I came up with all the action scenes at the end and got an action coordinator to cut them together.
