Despite the city's significant financial investment to address the issue of public waste, both residents and visitors in San Francisco are still expressing dissatisfaction with the presence of human and animal feces on the streets.

"It’s the first thought on my mind to watch where I’m stepping on that first step out the door," resident Adam Kedzorski told the San Francisco Chronicle of the feces crisis in the city. "It unfortunately never leaves my mind."

According to data analysis from the source, calls related to feces have increased by approximately 17% compared to 2020 and about 7% compared to 2019.
