Supreme Court Gets Jan 6. Defendant Out of Jail

A man who was found guilty in connection to the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot is being released from prison ahead of time because the Supreme Court is reviewing a case that could impact the sentences of many others involved.

Kevin Seefried, from Laurel, Delaware, was given a three-year prison term for a felony charge of obstructing an official proceeding, in addition to shorter sentences for misdemeanor offenses.

The Department of Justice stated that Seefried and his son Hunter were among the initial individuals to breach the Capitol, and they were captured on camera holding a Confederate flag during the incident.
