Trump Won't Testify In Trial As He Could Risk Perjury

Sources familiar with the matter informed The Washington Post that Donald Trump is unlikely to testify in his hush-money trial in Manhattan, despite his previous statements indicating he would do so.

According to four individuals close to the former president, it is not anticipated that he will take the witness stand next week.

As a result, the jury is expected to commence deliberations later in the week following the defense's presentation of a limited number of witnesses. John Coffee, a professor at Columbia Law School, expressed the view to The Telegraph that Trump would be ill-advised to testify, as it could expose him to a perjury indictment even if he emerged victorious in the case.
