Wife Attempts to Prank Husband by Hiding Under the Bed and It Backfires

Being married to the love of your life was one of the most fulfilling and happiest moments of life. This shows the love of each couple for one another with their vows. But what if it all suddenly falls into uncertainties.
Uncertainties in a relationship may be experienced at some point in time. A lot of people believed that after the two souls get reunited by marriage, feelings are slowly fading away. But what if it's all true? Donna felt in such doubt and came up with a plan that she almost regretted.
Mind of Doubts
Donna had been having doubts about her marriage and came up with a hair-brained scheme to test her husband. If only she had known how things would turn out, she probably would have done things differently.
The Ideal Marriage
Just like any other love story, Mark and Donna were high school sweethearts. They first met when they were seventeen. Mark gathered all the courage to propose to Donna. After 25 long years, the childhood sweethearts became lovely parents of two children. Their marriage seems perfect until everything changes for Donna.
As One
Donna had been married to Mark Smith for several years now. As time goes by, she felt that her husband was slowly drifting away from her despite the fact that they are married already. She fear that one day her husband would stop loving her. After thinking for quite some time, she created a plan that shocked her to the core.
Distant than Ever
Donna was terribly bothered by how distant her husband was and how much time Mark spent by himself. She was anxious that maybe her husband was having an affair. She didn't understand why he kept on giving her a cold shoulder. She knew from that moment that she needed to know more and find out what was going on.
Prankster
Donna knew in her heart that she needed to take action before their marriage fall into pieces. Back in the day, she remembered how both of them spent time together pulling pranks on their family and friends. With this, she came up with a silly prank for her husband to test his loyalty. However, his husband's reaction left her speechless.
Listing it All
Before Donna started her prank, she made a letter for her husband. She wrote all her thoughts on what she felt was lacking in their marriage. She cherished her husband dearly, but she also wanted to make sure that her husband wasn't simply pretending to be happy.
Feelings Reveal
As Donna wrote down every reason that worried her about their relationship and the reason she wanted to file a divorce. She wanted to find out if her husband's sentiment was genuine. She didn't actually want to file a divorce, but just to basically prank her husband. She had no idea that her plant wouldn't work as she had anticipated
Love Note
Donna had decided to lay beneath the bed and place the letter she wrote on top of their bed, for her to see Mark’s response to her shocking news. From that point of view, she would be able to tell if her husband would be happy or devastated. Either way, she was certain that her plan was brilliant after all what could possibly go wrong? But Donna has no idea what was about to happen
Rom-Com Dream
Donna pictured in her head that her husband would cry a river, like in some Hollywood romantic comedy shows that she had watched. As her husband cried, she would appear under the bed and soothe him that it was all a prank. With this, she knew that their marriage was strong. She couldn't wait for her husband to see her letter until she hear her husband coming.
The Test
As she waited for her husband, she started to think about the consequences of the prank. What would happen if the prank failed and backfired? She also thought that perhaps marriage counseling was a much better choice. Even before she could think more, she heard the front door slam, and her husband was at home. What she didn't know was her life was about to go upside down.
Home at Last
At last, the moment that Donna was waiting for had come. As she hear her husband’s footsteps as he goes up the stairs while calling for her, she remained quietly under the bed. As soon as her husband entered the room, Donna immediately realized that she made a terrible mistake.
No Return
As Donna lies beneath their bed she was uneasy. Her heartbeat raced as soon as she saw her husband's feet. The supposed prank as planned to add humor to their relationship like before could end up in tears. However, she knew that there was no turning back.
Message Received
As Donna watched Mark’s feet in front of her, she was tense and nervous. She couldn’t hear a single word but she knew that her husband was obviously reading the note. The room was filled with silence. She was about to get the answer she was looking for, but she wasn't expecting her husband’s feeling would be.
Waiting Game
Donna was anxiously waiting for her Mark to respond as she remained curled up beneath the bed. Was Mark sobbing unnoticed? Was he even startled? She couldn’t peek outside the bed for her husband might see her. But the room filled with silence was filled with an unexpected response.
Unforeseen Reaction
As Donna kept waiting underneath, Mark began to giggle, which was something Donna had never expected him to do. Mark soon made a call after. Who did he dial? Donna was sick to her stomach when she heard.
The Call
As Donna listened to the call she heard her husband saying, “Hey you, you wouldn't believe it, my marriage is officially done!” Mark also remarked that he thought that her wife wouldn't notice and get the message of the way he acts. Donna was left speechless and badly wanted to turn back time. She couldn't believe that her worst nightmare had come true.
On the Other Line
Donna's heart was torn to pieces by what she heard from her husband. She had never experienced such heartache. She was immobile. She was speechless. Even the worst-case situation she could have envisioned did not unfold this way. Who did he place a call? Was it his parents? The mistress? Maybe it was a friend? Whoever that person is, she was about to find out, anyway.
Torn into Pieces
Remorse and sadness swept through Donna underneath the bed, making her feel like a total idiot. She had hoped to expect a dramatic outburst from Mark, and instead of leaving, she imagined Mark rushing into her arms and weeping. After successfully dragging herself out from under the bed, Donna discovered that there was a lot more. Donna had no idea that there would be much more heartbreak.
True Love No More
Donna tried to appease herself as she still deeply sobbed. Thoughts came rushing into her. “How can I continue life without him?”. They were a match made in heaven and it wasn't supposed to end like this. Until she saw something placed on their bed.
Note to Her
As soon as Donna saw the note, she picked it up and read. With each word she read, her heart shattered as she went on. She was still aware that she needed to know the truth. Hoping everything was written in the letter, she continued.
Shattered Heart
Donna was so devastated by the strange turn of events. While she was crying her heart out, she tried to read the message that her husband left. Seeing the words “Dear Wife” in response to her first note, she couldn’t bring herself to read the note as she wept. She was already expecting what her husband had to say.

Hoping to find out the truth as she read the letter, she couldn't help but cry more at how her husband expressed how he felt and stated every little detail about it. But when Donna reached the last page of her husband's message she was surprised by it and never expected such a message.
Got Yah!
After Donna gathered all her courage to read her husband's message, she noticed Mark had noted something that shocked her. Mark wrote that the next time her wife tried to prank her to make sure that her feet were not peeking out of the bed. She couldn't believe that she was seen. How can Donna recover from this one?
Little Ashamed
Although Donna had meticulously plotted her prank, the smallest and most noticeable detail caused her plan to fail. She was so embarrassed by how everything had turned out against her. She found comfort in the fact that her husband was enjoying himself over the situation. Would she be able to get over this humiliation?
Sigh of Relief
As Donna contemplated what had just happened, she realized that something was off. As she pieced everything, she discovered that Mark wasn’t even on his phone at all. He pretended that he was calling someone to get under her skin. She was stunned as she cannot believe what will now happen to their relationship.
Lesson Learned
As the prank backfired on her, Donna got a taste of her medicine and she believed that she deserved it. The prank had taught her a valuable lesson that she should not play with one’s emotion in order to achieve her goal for it never works out. Can Donna expect Mark to forgive her?
Trust is a Must
This type of prank can occasionally serve as the request a husband and wife need to determine where they stand with one another, but it is not something that would be viewed as healthy. The best way to solve situations like these in a healthy way is to have faith in your spouse and to be open and honest with them.
Lucky Her
Fortunately for Donna, her devious prank did not ruin their relationship, but it is impossible to determine how long it lasted in light of Donna's manipulative tendencies.
Road To Happiness
It's not always necessary to take an extensive test to know your partner's true feelings in order to establish a trustworthy relationship. Even though Donna's nasty prank failed to provoke the desired grieved response, it nevertheless strengthened and prolonged their love.
